Better still, Gemma is just 150m from the nearest beach and close to the stunning baroque towns of southeast Sicily.

A heated pool (5 x 11m), trampoline, luxury outdoor showers and several lounge, dining and cooking areas ensure that most of your holiday at Gemma will be spent outside. Step out from the kitchen on to a shaded terrace, with dining table, swing chair and separate comfy seating area, overlooking the pool and garden. On the far side of the pool, two pergolas provide shade to two independent patios, one with a dining table for 8, the other with a sofa and outdoor armchair.

Overall, the villa is superbly equipped for outdoor dining. A small garden annex, with sliding French doors, houses a compact kitchen with a magnificent pizza oven, sink, fridge freezer, cupboards, a hob and a small table and chairs. Another area nearby is kitted out with a barbecue and food preparation area.

Interiors are simple and stylish with contemporary furniture. The ground floor comprises a living room with comfortable sofas, a sofa bed and a large screen TV, and a well-equipped galley kitchen with separate dining area framed by large French windows leading to the terrace and garden.

All the bedrooms have hotel-style modern bathrooms. The two double bedrooms on the ground floor both have a bathroom with a shower. On the first floor, one double bedroom has a small private terrace and a bathroom with shower; the other has a small double bed with a bathroom with bath and shower.
