OverviewGlicine is a two-bedroom cottage with its own secluded patio and garden on the family-friendly Villa Cecilia Trabia estate on the north coast of Sicily. The art and architecture of Monreale and Palermo are just 30km away and the lively beach resort of Cefalù around 50km.
The cottage overlooks a pretty private patio, with a dining area, that is surrounded by lush greenery and a cactus-studded rockery. From the terrace, a path leads into the main shared garden which is an extraordinary testament to the owner’s passion for plant life. Towering palms and loquat and carob trees overlook winding pathways that divide the garden into secluded spaces filled with flowering borders and shady seating areas. At the heart of the garden is children’s play area and a magnificent pool complex, with three separate pools (a 20m pool, Jacuzzi and children’s pool), overlooked by a vast gazebo designed for outdoor living.
The cottage is simply but attractively furnished and ideal for a small family. On the ground floor, the dining room has a fully-equipped kitchenette and double doors out to the terrace, and there is a separate living room with two sofas. The twin bedroom on the same floor has an en suite shower room (shower with hydro-massage and music) and toilet. The master bedroom and en suite bathroom on the first floor have sea views.
Guests can rent an 8m RIB boat or a 4m rowing boat with engine for an additional fee.
