Villa Cecilia Trabia

The property itself was beautiful. The villa was dated and needs to be updated. Most of the showers leak and water splashes all over onto the floor, the air conditioning downstairs hardly functions and it was very hot downstairs. Wifi is non existent in 2 of the cottages. The electrical system in the villa is outdated and insufficient and when using the oven the fuses blew on numerous occasions. Opening the gates was hugely problematic as it required a key and the driveway up to the parking was narrow and on a very steep gradient. Updating the gates and using a remote opener would solve the problem . The kitchen was completely disorganized and it was hard to find anything. Appliances like the microwave did not work. There was an infestation of ants and you couldn’t leave food anywhere and had to discard a lot of food. The cleaning that we were required to pay was a bare minimum. It was not child friendly. There was no high chair. All in all we were very disappointed and do not think it was worth what we paid. Would not recommend to anyone. The service was good and communication was good and timely.

Villa Trabia is a very beautiful house surrounded by a magnificent garden. There is a wonderful swimming pool, hot whirlpool and little children pool. The garden is a delight to escape with little paths leading to terraces and spaces to sit and enjoy the garden. We stayed here for one week with extended family of three generations and had a wonderful holiday. Any small issues were dealt with promptly. The staff came daily to clean and were so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Villa Cecilia.

I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Cecilia. You were from the very start, very easy and accommodating to work with, very upfront about accommodations and answered my questions thoroughly and promptly. I cannot thank you enough for that. Trying to make a group of 22 happy is hard enough but everyone had an amazing time and the accommodations were perfect for us, giving us time to be together as well as time apart. Your staff is truly something to be proud of: Manuela was most accommodating and thorough, Signore Graziela and her team as well, serving up two beautiful meals and not batting and eye when we asked for a delay in serving on the night of my sons birthday party so we could enjoy cocktail hour a little longer. What I loved most about your villa, aside from the incredible layout, gardens and lushness, was the location. While not in a touristy area necessarily, we loved the location across the street from Hotel Tonnara, which we frequented almost daily, for breakfast, lunch and twice for dinner. We became very friendly to Anelo, the restaurant manager and spent a lot of time night swimming and just enjoying being the only Americans around. We felt truly immersed in Sicily. It was an easy commute to Castellemare Del Golfo, the birthplace of the family’s grandparents, as well as Cefalù, a beautiful location on its own, where we enjoyed the most amazing cooking class through Sicilian Food Lovers at Villa Palamara. We also were able to take a day trip to the Aeolian Islands, another incredibly beautiful and memorable trip. Thank you for helping our family enjoy a trip of a lifetime that we will never forget.
